We are committed to creating a healthier future for your child. We do this by constantly working to make sure we are leaders in the areas of pediatric patient care, education and leadership. We deliver age-appropriate inpatient and outpatient care to children from birth to age 18.

Inpatient pediatric care is provided at KHSC's Kingston General Hospital site through the pediatric unit on Kidd 10, the pediatric step-down unit, Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

While you and your child are here, you'll notice there are many supports available to you to help make your stay a little easier. First, you're encouraged to actively participate in your child's care. We want you act as your child's voice and provide the kind of nurturing that only a parent or loved one can. That's why we encourage you to be with your child at all times, if you can. We also have a number of specialty programs in pediatrics that you can take advantage of. These include pet therapy as well as techniques to help your child cope with their illness and time in the hospital. To read more about these, visit our programs available for your child page.

Our unit is locked for safety, so when you arrive on the unit, you'll need to use the phone before entering. The phone that is mounted on the wall outside Pediatrics will ring directly into the nursing station. Please let the nurse know who you are and who you are coming to visit so that they may let you in.

While you are on the unit, if you have any questions about the care your child is receiving, please speak to a member of the care team. Our teams are always happy to answer your questions.
