What does Pediatric Care unit look like?

Pediatrics located on Kidd 10 and has 10 spacious private rooms all with en suite bathrooms and sleeping accommodations for a family member. The floor boasts beautiful views overlooking Lake Ontario and Queen's University.  This family centered care environment aims to promote a safe and timely recovery of your child.

The bright and welcoming team of Professionals strives to uphold outstanding care always for your child during their stay. We encourage you to participate in team discussions, planning and delivery of care for your child.

Pediatrics is a secured unit and all parents and visitors must use the phone before entering the unit.  The phone that is mounted on the wall outside the east and west entrance to Pediatrics will ring directly into the nursing station. The nursing station is located in the middle of the unit in case you need to speak with someone. The unit also includes a family/playroom that is available to all patients.

On the unit we also have:

  • Items for infants including crib mobiles, sound/musical toys, high chairs, strollers will be available to you during your child's stay.
  • A large playroom with toys and resources geared to each child's age-group and interests. We'll encourage your child to play, create and engage in activities to brighten their spirits.
  • There is an art room available with paints, crayons, stickers and other supplies to enhance your child's creativity and imagination while they are here. Art classes are also available. Please speak to a staff member for dates and times.
