Emily Leslie
With more than 30 years of experience in nursing and hospital governance, Emily has built a distinguished career dedicated to excellence in patient care, leadership and strategic decision-making. Drawing on extensive clinical expertise and governance experience, Emily is committed to advancing high-quality healthcare, fostering collaboration and supporting organizational excellence.
She has nursing experience in emergency care, endoscopy, community nursing, hospital bed utilization and quality improvement. Emily also assisted in strategic planning and the development of Operational and Business Plans for the Sharbot Lake Family Health Team.
Leading up to the integration of Hotel Dieu and Kingston General Hospital in 2017, Emily, then a member of the Hotel Dieu Hospital Board, agreed to serve on the advisory body established to oversee the integration process. As a member of the Joint Steering Committee, she played a key role in informing and guiding the work required to bring the two organizations together as a unified health sciences centre.
From integration until becoming a member of Kingston Health Sciences Centre Board of Directors, Emily held several pivotal roles. She was a member of the Partnership Council - a group representing the Hotel Dieu and Kingston General Boards and held key leadership positions on the Hotel Dieu Hospital Board, including Vice Chair and Chair of the Ethics, Mission and Values Committee.
Emily joined the KHSC Board of Directors in 2018 and has since served as Chair of the Patient Care and Quality Committee, Chair of the Redevelopment Committee, and as the cross-appointee to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation Board for a five-year term. Following this, Emily was appointed as Vice-Chair of the KHSC Board and assumed the role of Chair effective June 22, 2026.
Emily also served on the Research and Education Committee at Kingston General Hospital and on the Board of the South East Community Care Access Centre (SECCAC). While serving on the SECCAC Board, Emily was Vice Chair of the Patient Safety, Quality, and Risk Committee and served on the Resources Committee.
Emily has an interest in mental health and addictions in both the local Kingston and area and the broader community. She is on the board of AMHS-KFLA as the cross-appointed representative of KHSC.
Emily, a dedicated professional, also cherishes her personal life. She resides in Kingston, is happily married, and is a proud parent of six children and eleven grandchildren.
