This week, Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is joining healthcare organizations across the country in recognizing Canadian Patient Safety Week, Oct. 26 to 30, in partnership with Healthcare Excellence Canada!
Patient safety is a shared responsibility and at the heart of our commitment to ensuring quality in every patient experience. Every day, our teams bring compassion, skill and dedication to helping patients and families receive safe, high-quality care for patients and families.
This year’s theme, “What Shapes Safer Care?”, invites us to reflect on how we each contribute to patient safety through everyday moments - from raising a concern and listening to a patient’s perspective to sharing information during a handover or finding a better way to deliver care.
Throughout the week, KHSC teams are coming together to share ideas and celebrate patient safety through interactive activities and educational opportunities. Our annual Quality Improvement Showcase celebrates the innovative work happening across our organization to continuously improve the quality and safety of care.
