Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and its partners are informing the public, in advance, of an emergency training exercise scheduled for June 13.

This exercise will take place outside the Emergency Department at KHSC’s Kingston General Hospital site between 9:00 a.m. and noon.

During this time, KHSC, in collaboration with Kingston Police, Kingston Fire & Rescue, and Frontenac Paramedics, will conduct a joint training scenario. The exercise will involve a Code Orange drill simulating a mass casualty incident resulting from a train derailment.

Participants from KHSC and its emergency service partners will simulate the transportation and treatment of casualties. Volunteers will act as simulated patients as part of the drill.

KHSC and its partners would like to reassure the public that this event is solely a drill aimed at testing and improving our emergency response plans. The Emergency Department will remain open to the public throughout the exercise.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as our community works to enhance our emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
