Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick
Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick is a graduate of University College Dublin, Ireland. His postgraduate clinical and research training was completed at University College Dublin and at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a Royal College certified specialist in internal medicine and respirology, and an American Board-certified sleep medicine specialist.
Dr. Fitzpatrick is a Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen’s University. His research interests are in upper airway physiology and in the diagnostic and management pathways for obstructive sleep apnea.
He was the Chair of the Division of Respirology & Sleep Medicine at Queen’s University from 2007-17. In September 2014 he was appointed Chief of Staff & Vice President of Medical and Academic Affairs at Hotel Dieu Hospital and, following the integration of Kingston General Hospital with Hotel Dieu Hospital to form Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), on April 1st 2017, he was appointed Chief of Staff and Vice President of Medical & Academic Affairs at KHSC.
