The Cardiac, Circulatory and Respiratory Research Program consists of a multidisciplinary group of researchers involved in basic molecular and clinical health research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
Our researchers are studying the role of mitochondria as oxygen sensors in lung circulation, new treatments for atrial fibrillation and pulmonary hypertension, and the intricacies of brain damage after cardiac arrest. They are also exploring new methods for diagnosing and treating heart disease through cardiac and vascular imaging. Their work is advancing foundational knowledge, advancing treatments, and leading to faster, better results for patients.
