To the delight of patients and families alike, a team of caped crusaders dropped by Kingston Health Sciences Centre to lift the spirits of children receiving care at its Kingston General Hospital site.

The event has become an annual tradition for the staff at Elite Window Cleaning, who trade in their typical uniforms for superhero costumes while they drop over the side of the building, before visiting the pediatric department, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and Child and Youth Mental Health unit.

“Our people have been counting down the days until superhero day. We look forward to it every year – it’s a huge morale boost for our young patients and goes a long way to ease the stress they may be feeling during their hospital stay.” - Erika Kooi, Manager of Pediatrics, NICU and Child Life Services at KHSC

“Seeing the amazement in the kids’ eyes and how they forget about their current situation makes what we are doing so worthwhile, and keeps us coming back year after year.” - Chris Stoness, Owner and CEO of Elite Window Cleaning
