The Kingston General Hospital Research Institute now has its own website. The site (www.kghri.ca), part of an overall website renewal project by Kingston General Hospital, focuses on research being done in the hospital  by doctors and scientists, and includes a number of videos highlighting their work  and their patients.

The website also reflects the collaboration between KGH and its partner institutions, says Roger Deeley, Vice President, Health Sciences Research, KGH and President, KGHRI.  “All of our researchers hold faculty appointments at Queen’s University, and many of them also work with our partner institutions, Hotel Dieu Hospital and Providence Care, so we are pleased to highlight our collective strengths in this way.”

The site offers extensive resources for researchers and their teams, and provides information for patients and families interested in taking part in hospital-based research. The site also includes helpful links for potential industrial partners and collaborators.

Researchers can find instructions and resources on starting and running their research programs, including links to policies and fillable forms.

Patients and families can learn how research helps them, find out how to take part in research studies, and see who is doing those studies.

A centerpiece of the site is its library of researcher profiles, focusing on both doctors and scientists whose research leads to better patient care and more effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease and illness.

“Outstanding researchers and excellent research are creating exciting new opportunities for discovery and collaboration,” says Dr. Deeley.  “This website enables us to showcase our researchers, their work, and its impact on patients, families and the broader community.”
