From the lab to the field to the hospital bed, researchers at Kingston’s hospitals and Queen’s University are once again depicting the fascination of their work through Queen’s annual Art of Research photo competition.

This year, to celebrate the fifth year of this initiative, the KGH Research Institute is sponsoring one of the contest’s Fifth Anniversary Prizes. The $500 KGHRI Prize will be awarded to the image that best represents patient-oriented and clinical research.

“The research that our clinicians and scientists and their teams do every day is important, but often invisible,” says Steve Smith, Vice President, Health Sciences Research, KHSC, Vice-Dean Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, Queen's and President & CEO, KGH Research Institute.  “Photography is a wonderful medium that lets these investigators celebrate, with the broader world, the wonder and often unexpected beauty of what they do. We’re honoured to offer this prize in recognition of their creativity in revealing to us the essence of what they do.”

The competition deadline is Thursday, March 12. Any current Queen’s faculty, staff, student or alumni are eligible.
