Since its inception in 1905, the KGH Auxiliary, once called the Women’s Aid, has made an incredible difference to how patient care is provided at our Kingston General Hospital (KGH) site. The impact of the volunteers’ time and fundraising efforts has been and continues to be substantial and exceptional. Today, around 200 Auxiliary members promote and uphold our mission to:
- provide Auxiliary services to the KGH site of Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) to improve patient care as requested by the hospital administration in liaison with the Director of Volunteers and the President of the organization
- raise funds for the KGH site to be allocated in a manner satisfactory to the Administration of KHSC and the Auxiliary and in harmony with the planning of the community
- advance education by providing funding for educational programs at the KGH site of KHSC.
The Auxiliary has established itself as a vibrant and important part of the hospital recognized by KHSC leadership, staff and the community. We reach out to patients and visitors every day. We demonstrate through our daily work our organization’s commitment to the hospital.
