Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is committed to making sure people have the best possible experiences every time they receive care and support services from its dedicated staff. Achieving a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO®) designation from the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) is one way in which KHSC strives for excellence and works to improve health outcomes for patients.
Recognized worldwide, the BPSO designation means that an organization like KHSC has implemented best practice guidelines (BPGs) that have been evaluated and proven to have positive impacts on the care provided to patients and families.
In April 2015, KHSC’s Hotel Dieu Hospital site received its BPSO designation, which continues to be renewed every two years.
In April 2018, KHSC’s Kingston General Hospital site began its work to receive a BPSO designation, which it is expecting to achieve in the spring of 2021.
