When Breast Imaging Kingston (BIK) first opened in 2022, the goal was simple: create a better screening experience for people and a more connected approach to breast care.
Located at 820 John Marks Avenue in Kingston, BIK is home to a team of specialized technologists, radiologists and other health-care professionals focused on breast imaging and diagnosis.
But BIK is about more than what happens inside the imaging rooms.
It is a bright, welcoming space designed with patient comfort, privacy and dignity in mind. It is also a regional hub for education, training and innovation in breast imaging.

One centre. A connected approach to care.
Before BIK opened, breast imaging services were provided across multiple locations in Kingston. Bringing these services together under one roof created a more streamlined experience for people and the teams caring for them.
Today, BIK provides breast screening as well as specialized imaging and diagnostic procedures, including 3D mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI and breast biopsy, and localizations for treatment.
When additional care is needed, BIK is part of a larger breast care journey at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Breast cancer treatment, including surgery and other specialized care, is provided at KHSC's Kingston General Hospital and Hotel Dieu Hospital sites.
Together, these services support a coordinated approach to breast health for people throughout the region.
Inside Breast Imaging Kingston
BIK was designed to be different from a traditional hospital imaging department. Bright, modern and purpose-built, the space was created with the experience in mind.
A regional centre for breast health
BIK offers breast screening through the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) and serves as a major breast screening site for Southeastern Ontario.
BIK is also a training hub for physicians and technologists, helping develop the next generation of breast imaging professionals.
The centre provides an environment for new technologies and approaches to breast imaging and diagnosis, helping advance the way breast health care is delivered
A community effort
Breast Imaging Kingston exists because people across Southeastern Ontario believe breast health care can be better.
Community philanthropy played a significant role in making BIK possible, including major support from the Rose of Hope committee, UHKF and other local donors. That support helped create a facility equipped with advanced imaging technology and designed specifically for breast care.
Today, community investment continues through the Rose of Hope Clinical Chair and ongoing support for innovation, technology and breast cancer care.
The result is a Centre built to support the breast health of our community today and into the future.
