Holidays bring reduced hours for KHSC retail services

Over the next few weeks various patient and retail services at both the HDH and KGH sites of Kingston Health Sciences Centre will be running on reduced and/or slightly changed hours.  Please make note of the following changes:

Urgent and Emergency care:

• HDH site: The Urgent Care Centre is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.  The walk-in Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27, 28 and 31. 
• KGH site:  The Emergency Department is open 24/7 for all life-threatening injuries and illnesses. 

If you’re experiencing severe chest pain, respiratory distress, allergic reactions or the symptoms of stroke (sudden onset of arm/leg weakness, facial droop or slurred speech) call 911 immediately. 

Cashier Offices:

• HDH site (Jeanne Mance 6):  Closing at 1 p.m. Dec. 24.  Closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 1 inclusive.  HDH and KGH bill payments can be dropped into the lock boxes in the main or Sydenham Street lobbies.
• KGH site (Davies 1 (main) lobby):  Closing at 1 p.m. Dec. 24.  Closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.  Closing at 3 p.m. Dec. 31. Regular posted hours all other days.  When the office is closed patients can purchase parking passes from Security (in the office next door).  KGH and HDH bill payments can be dropped into the lock box outside the Cashier Office.

Retail food services:

• HDH site: The Brockview Café is closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 1 inclusive.  Sandwiches, snacks and cold/hot drinks can be purchased from vending machines in the main lobby.
• KGH site:
  • KGH Auxiliary Café: Closed from 3 p.m. Dec. 23 to 8 a.m. Jan. 2.
  • Auxiliary Tuck Shop (Connell 1):Closed Dec. 22 to 26 and Dec. 29 to Jan. 1.Open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 27, 28 and Jan. 2 to 4.

A Christmas Day meal will be served for KHSC staff and volunteers and also be available for purchase by visitors between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Atrium Cafeteria on Dec. 25.

Gift shops:

• HDH site:  The Brock Boutique is closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 1 inclusive.
• KGH site:  The Auxiliary Gift Shop is closed Dec. 24, 25, 26, 31 and Jan. 1. 

Retail pharmacy services (Lovell Drugs):

• HDH site: Closing at 12 noon, Dec. 24.  Closed Dec. 25, 26, 29, 30 and Jan. 1.  Open Dec. 27, 28 and 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• KGH site:  Closing at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 24.  Closed Dec. 25, 26, 29, 30 and Jan. 1.  Open Dec. 27 and 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Open Dec. 31 from 8:30 to 3:30 p.m.
