To celebrate the city of Kingston’s centennial year, special events were concentrated during ‘Old Home Week’ in August of 1938. Kingston’s three hospitals partnered with other members of the local health care community to form a collective entry for the city’s Centennial parade.

The parade began at the exhibition grounds and extended for over 1.5 miles and took 45 minutes to pass at any given point along the route. Local businesses, institutions, clubs and groups, as well as individuals entered floats in the parade.

Another highlight of the week was the historical pageant, which was themed “A century of progress” and held at Old Fort Henry on August 1, 2, and 3.
