Chronic Pain Support Group of Kingston (CPSGK):

Offers the public a meeting on Zoom every 3rd Monday of the month from 2-4 pm EST with some breaks during the summer. Contact Christine for your link or ask to be put on our group member email list to receive the link monthly. See us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/chronicpainkingston)(link is external) where we post useful links and tips or e-mail us at @email(link sends e-mail).

Our goal is to empower sufferers and their loved ones to take charge of their lives with pain preferring an active versus a passive approach. We do not endorse any particular medicine or suggest any particular treatment for individuals but we do offer support and guidance towards dealing with the multifaceted nature of pain. A rich life with pain is possible!

Our group, supported by the Chronic Pain Association of Canada, (chronicpaincanada.com(link is external)) represents a great starting point for anyone on their journey with pain.

CPSGK has hosted a variety of speakers and pain experts such as local experts Dr. Ruth Dubin, Dr. Richard Henry, Dr. Dean Tripp and Dr. Gregory Murphy. We have also brought in experts from across Canada such as Dr. Jackie Gardiner-Nix, innovator and chronic pain mindfulness pioneer of the NeuroNovaCentre and Dr. Andrea Furlan of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute who both have a series of informative videos on YouTube.  Other experts offer advice, new techniques, treatments and approaches to dealing with pain and the many attendant issues.  Our presenters have been, pharmacists, tax experts, physiotherapists, chiropractors, meditation instructors, osteopathic manual practitioners as well as representatives from groups such as the Arthritis Society of Canada, the YMCA (which offers a Living with Chronic Pain Course) and the Self-Management Program of Southeastern Ontario of the

Kingston Community Health Centres (which offers a wide variety of useful workshops).
