Nursing

KHSC offers a wide variety of nursing profession opportunities; from the bedside RN and RPN to Clinical Educators, Advanced Practice Nurses in specialized fields and Nursing Research all in the major disciplines of surgical, medical, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ambulatory, Orthopaedic, Intensive Care, Emergency, Renal, Neurological, Oncology and Cardiac. In partnership with Queen's University and St. Lawrence College, KGH offers practical bedside nursing training.

Allied health teams

Our dynamic team of allied healthcare providers from many professions are essential to the delivery of quality patient centred care, education and research & development. As valued members of the interdisciplinary health care team, their skills and expertise are critical to the success for patients at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. Examples of allied health roles include Registered Dietitians, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Medical Radiation Therapists, Medical Radiological Technologists, Pharmacists, Registered Pharmacy Technicians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers. 

Management and professional roles

Our management team includes various roles in both clinical and nonclinical areas: Team Leader, Coordinator, Manager, and Director as well as Professional Practice Leaders for various disciplines. We look for candidates with previous management experience, demonstrated educational achievements and leadership competencies. Healthcare experience is required in some areas and ideal in others.

Professional non-clinical roles

Numerous Professional roles are in place at KHSC including Information Management, Finance, People Services, Risk Management, Quality Control, Patient Access, Strategy Management and Communications.

Administrative & clerical roles

We have various levels and types of administrative and clerical roles including Medical Secretary, Clerk, Switchboard Operator, Filing Clerk, Health Records Clerk, Receptionist, Secretary, and Administrative Assistant. Potential candidates may be tested for computer testing, typing, medical terminology proficiency, and accounting depending on the vacancy requirements.

Support & skilled trades

Kingston Health Sciences Centre employs numerous skilled trades including Plumbers, Carpenters, Electricians, and other support positions such as Patient Care Assistants, Central Processing Technicians, Nutrition Assistants and Environmental Assistants. Education and skills vary but typically a minimum of Grade 12 is required.
