KHSC declares COVID-19 outbreak on Davies 5 unit

Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Davies 5 unit of the Kingston General Hospital (KGH) site after four patients tested positive for COVID-19. The unit is currently closed to admissions and visitors.

KFL&A Public Health has been notified, and KHSC is in the process of notifying patients, visitors and staff affected by the outbreak. Meanwhile KHSC is in the process of completing the necessary contact tracing and testing for individuals on the unit.

At this time, the Kidd 4 unit at the KGH site also remains in outbreak status. A recent outbreak on the Connell 9 unit was declared over on Friday, May 6.

KHSC’s top priority is the safety of our patients, health-care workers and community. KHSC thanks everyone for helping to prevent the spread of the virus within the hospital, including adherence to our screening processes, masking requirements and visitor restrictions.
