The research enterprise of our department is strong. The common theme of departmental research programs is molecular medicine: that is, the elucidation of the mechanisms of disease at the molecular level and the application of this knowledge to the design and implementation of novel diagnostics and therapies. Departmental investigators have garnered international recognition for the quality of their basic and translational research in a variety of areas including drug resistance in cancer, molecular hemostasis, cancer biomarker discovery, leukemogenesis and skin cancer diagnosis/treatment.
