Hearing Aid Dispensary

The Hearing Aid Dispensary at KHSC is recognized by the Assistive Devices Program of Ontario, Veterans Affairs Canada, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and Non-Insured Health Benefits. We work with the Ontario Disability Support Program, Ontario Works, and the Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities.

We are also recognized by the Infant Hearing Program for dispensing hearing aids to children.

Please note, a hearing aid prescription is required.

We also provide hearing aid accessories, batteries and assistive listening devices for purchase during our regular hours of operation.

Custom earplugs for swimming and hearing protection can be arranged for you by appointment.

Location

The Audiology Clinic is located at our Hotel Dieu Hospital site, in the Murray Building at 144 Brock Street. The reception and registration desk is located on level 1.

Hours

We are open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday to Friday, but closed for lunch from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. daily.

About Us

The Hearing Aid Dispensary fits, sells, checks, and services hearing aids and other assistive listening devices. Additionally, we sell batteries and other accessories for hearing aid maintenance. Earmold impressions for custom earmolds, noise protection, and swim plugs are also provided.

The Hearing Aid Dispensary is staffed by Audiologists who are registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). The Audiologists share information about the care, maintenance, benefits and drawbacks of hearing aids.

The Hearing Aid Dispensary is registered and recognized by the following agencies:

  • Assistive Devices Program (ADP) of the Ontario Ministry of Health
  • Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD) program
  • Ontario Disabilities Support Program (ODSP)
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
  • Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
  • Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)
  • Ontario Infant Hearing Program (IHP)

The Hearing Aid Dispensary welcomes patients of all ages, from infants to older adults.

A hearing aid prescription is required to purchase hearing aids. A referral from your doctor to the Audiology Clinic is necessary to get a hearing test and hearing aid prescription. Please check out the Audiology Clinic for more information.

Information about services during COVID-19

The hearing aid dispensary will open the week of June 22 and will be seeing scheduled patient visits only.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Drop in patients will not be seen.
