How to Take Part in Research

Many opportunities are available for patients and families to participate in research. Your participation helps our researchers and healthcare providers to develop better healthcare treatments and practices through evidence-based decision-making.

There are several different kinds of research that you can take part  in, including:

  • Research studies, which ask you to answer a questionnaire or survey about your condition;
  • Studies that ask you to contribute blood, urine or tissue samples to a specimen or genetic database;
  • Studies (also called “clinical trials”) that compare one kind of treatment to another, such as drugs, devices, or surgical procedures;

Are you interested in participating in a clinical trial?
Will you help shape the treatments of tomorrow? Every clinical trial needs people just like you!
