We are a diverse group of approximately 200 laboratorians that reflects the wide range of laboratory medicine services that we provide to our clinical colleagues and patients. This includes a full complement of laboratory physicians and laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technologists, pathologists’ assistants, laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, secretarial and clerical staff.
The administration, management and operation of the Clinical Laboratories is the collective responsibility of the Administrative Director, the Medical Director, and our Laboratory Managers, Division Service Chiefs, Senior and Charge Technologists.
We are closely integrated with the Queen’s Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and our faculty hold joint appointments with the hospital and the university for our tripartite mission of patient care, education and research. The Department Head is also the Pathologist-in-Chief at Kingston General Hospital.
