Each year the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University and the Kingston General Hospital Research Institute run competitions for various sources of funding made available from faculty research funds and hospital foundation funds.
Deadlines for applications are consolidated and the 2016 competition deadline is Monday, January 18, 2016.
Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to Gladys Smith by Friday, December 18th, providing the name of the Principal Investigator, the title of the research project, and the source of funds requested.
For 2016, funding in the following research areas is available:
- Neurological Sciences and Encephalitis - up to six awards at $15,000
- Cardiovascular Research - up to two awards at $11,000 grants
- Pulmonary and Respiratory Research - five to six awards in the $20,000 to $30,000 range
- Cancer (general) - one award at $15,000
- Breast Cancer - two awards at $10,000
- Mental Health - three awards at $10,000
- Prostate Cancer (Available funding to be advised)
