We always welcome and encourage non-members to volunteer in our fundraising areas and special events such as the Christmas Bazaar and Teddy Bear Campaign. You can call the Auxiliary Office if you are interested in getting involved in this way. To volunteer in one of our fundraising areas, such as the Gift/Tuck Shops, Cafe or Lottery Booth, you will need to complete the formal volunteer application process through the Department of Volunteer Services. You can read about the application process here.
If you want to get involved with the Auxiliary in a more active capacity, we are always looking for members to take on a more important role in Auxiliary affairs, which includes taking on a leadership role. However, there are many other ways to be a valuable member. You can attend our General meetings during the year, which take place in March and October and feature informative speakers. Our Annual Meeting and Awards ceremony is held in June. Meetings also include a lunch, available at a reasonable cost. You may choose to attend the whole meeting or just a specific portion. Our meeting schedule is:
-
Board & Council Meetings - Held in September, March and May at Tompkins Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m.
-
General Meetings - Normally held on the last Monday of October & March at 11 a.m.
-
Annual General Meeting - Last Monday in June at 11 a.m.
The KGH site of Kingston Health Sciences Centre is a great teaching hospital/trauma centre and depends on the support provided by the KGH Auxiliary to assist in the provision of outstanding patient care. We would be so pleased to have you get involved and hopefully join us as a member. For more information on how to become a member, click here.
