information resources for you

The KHSC Colposcopy Clinic has a variety of resources for you:

Our team

Our clinic is staffed by professional medical personnel who will be involved in your care. Our team includes a gynaecologist, resident (physician in training), nursing staff, along with many others. As KGH is a teaching hospital affiliated with Queen’s University, medical and nursing trainees will also be involved in your care. They will work under the direct supervision of staff.

At the colposcopy clinic we work as a team to provide you with highest quality of care.  All of our doctors work interchangeably and are able to provide the same level of care. We also value continuity of care and as such we do our best to book you with the Doctor of your choice. It is important to understand that at times this may not be possible.

Appointments

Appointment times are limited. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know well ahead of time. This will allow us to offer this time to another patient who is waiting for an appointment. We will try to accommodate re-booking you as best as we can. Please remember though, that clinic appointments do book up quickly.

A volunteer will call you the week before to remind you of your appointment. If we cannot reach you, a voice message will be left asking you to call back to confirm your appointment. Please call the secretary to confirm or to re-book your appointment for another time. You can expect your appointment to last approximately 1 hour.

We encourage you to bring a family member or friend with you to your appointment to support you during your clinic visit.

What To Bring to your Appointment

Please bring your Health Card and all of your medications to all your clinic visits.

Registering for your appointment

Please register in the clinic as soon as you arrive. During your initial registration, you'll be asked to provide your Health Card, current address and a phone number so we can reach you in the future. Also, if you have your Family Doctor and Pharmacy name and address, this would be helpful.

As a patient in the clinic we strive to always protect your privacy and to ensure confidentiality. If you do not want our clinic to phone you at home, please provide another number where we can reach you or leave a message. Messages will only be left if your name is specified on the voice mail.

If you would like us to communicate with you via email we'll ask you to sign a consent form to indicate you would like to receive your information in this format.
