Kingston Reproductive Centre

If you are a patient who has already undergone a previous IUI cycle at KRC, please only call with the first day of full flow of your next period. Please expect a delay of 1-2 months as our capacity is limited. All patients are expected to sign and return this COVID treatment consent waiver before beginning treatment.

If you are planning to start your first IUI cycle, please call 613-548-1353  to schedule a virtual teaching and consent signing visit. We ask that you review the attached Superovulation & Intrauterine Insemination narrated Powerpoint document prior to your virtual visit.

At Kingston Health Sciences Centre, our experienced and supportive gynecologists will meet with you in consultation, perform any necessary investigations and then review your treatment goals and options. If our fertility services are the right choice for you, you will meet with our fertility nurse at the Kingston Reproductive Centre (KRC) to guide you through the treatment process from beginning to end.

The KRC is located on the fifth floor of the Kidd wing at Kingston General Hospital site. It is Kingston’s only fertility clinic and located inside the hospital so that all services can be provided in one place.

To get started, have your family physician or gynecologist refer you to our Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility physicians. Once your referral is received, our office will call you to book an appointment.

KRC offers several fertility treatment options:

Superovulation and Intrauterine Insemination

Superovulation and Intrauterine insemination, or SO/IUI, is a fertility treatment that helps individuals or couples suffering from:

  • Mild endometriosis
  • Low sperm count or low sperm movement
  • Unexplained fertility
  • Advancing reproductive age (>35 years)

If your fertility doctor has told you that this is the right treatment for you, you will be asked to schedule a consent signing appointment with our fertility nurses. Before this appointment, we ask that you review our Superovulation & Intrauterine Insemination presentation to learn more about the treatment. Once all your questions are answered, you will be ready to get started with treatment by calling with the first day of your next period.

Donor Insemination Program

This service is available to individuals or couples who want to get pregnant using donor sperm. Your doctor will discuss testing and explain how you can order frozen donor sperm that meet Health Canada’s safety regulations.

In-vitro Fertilization

KHSC does not offer In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) on site. This service is offered in partnership with the Ottawa Fertility Centre so that patients in Kingston can receive satellite monitoring closer to home during their IVF cycle.  For more information visit the Ottawa Fertility Centre website: www.conceive.ca
