The Kingston Health Sciences Centre Patient and Family Advisory Council comprises a minimum of 12 former patients or family members of patients who have received care at our HDH and KGH sites, plus four staff members. The Council includes individuals who have had experience in medicine, emergency, urgent care, surgery, cardiology, oncology, obstetrics/gynecology, critical care, and pediatric and outpatient clinics. The Council is co-chaired by a Patient Experience Advisor and four ex-officio staff members: Chief of Staff Dr. Mike Fitzpatrick, Directors Namrata Dave and Laura Mitchell, and Patient and Family Centred Care Lead Angela Morin.
Patient Experience Advisors are members of key service-based and corporate committees, including the Strategy Operations Committee; Patient Care, Quality and People Committee; and the Patient Quality and Safety Steering Committee, just to name a few.
