The Mohs Clinic is located at our Hotel Dieu site on Johnson 2. Please register at the Brock 1 Clinic before proceeding to the Mohs Clinic on Johnson 2.
When you arrive, you can enter through the main entrance off Brock Street. Walk towards main elevators and then continue down hallway to your right past the elevators (do not get on the elevator). Look for the “Brock One Clinic” sign hanging from ceiling. Turn right at the first entrance on your right halfway down the hallway to reach the Registration Desk.
*** Please note, if you do not register at Brock 1 first, the Mohs Clinic will not know that you have arrived for your appointment.
Once you have registered, return to the main lobby and take an elevator up to Level 2. Turn right off the elevator and take a quick right hand turn down the hallway (if you are at day surgery, you have missed the turn).
Go toward the end of the hallway and the Mohs Clinic is down the hall way across from the elevators. Go to the waiting room on the right hand side of the hallway until you are called.

What is Mohs Surgery?
Mohs surgery is used to remove non-melanoma skin cancers from sensitive areas (e.g., head, face, neck). It uses real-time confirmation of complete circumferential surgical margins (deep and peripheral) to remove the minimum amount of normal tissue required to ensure disease-free surgical margins. This is performed under local anesthetic as an outpatient.
Mohs surgery is the gold-standard treatment for high-risk (either by subtype or location) basal and squamous cell carcinomas, offering cure rates of 99% and 97% respectively.
The Mohs microsurgery clinic at Hotel Dieu site is one of only ten in Canada. The clinic team includes a dermatologist, two medical lab technicians, a registered practical nurse, a program manager and various clerical staff. The clinic features three procedure rooms, a dedicated laboratory and a patient waiting area.
