Fertility

Some cancer treatments can affect fertility (ability to have a child) for both men and women. Your cancer doctor (oncologist) should talk to you about the risk of treatment affecting your fertility before treatment begins.

Sexual health

Many patients and their partners experience sexual concerns as a result of their cancer treatment. Common concerns include:

  • Body image changes
  • Low sexual desire
  • Difficulties with erections
  • Vaginal changes
  • Pain during sexual activity
  • Orgasm changes
  • Relationship adjustment and communication

Talk to a member of your cancer care team if you have sexual concerns. They can help you or refer you to the Cancer Centre Sexual Health Clinic.
