Breast Assessment Program

Please note: The Government of Ontario announced that it will be expanding the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) to include eligible people ages 40-49 in fall 2024. Current eligibility guidelines remain the same and can be found on the OBSP website.

The Breast Assessment Program (BAP) is a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals providing services in diagnostic imaging, surgical consultation and intervention, nursing services along with access to social work, pastoral care and nutritional services.  Our goal is to provide patients with timely access from detection of a breast abnormality to diagnosis and treatment.  BAP is a single access point to care providing supportive patient and family centered care, patient navigation, co-ordination of care and health teaching to help patients make informed treatment decisions.

Referrals to BAP

You can be referred to the Breast Assessment Program either by your family physician or the Ontario Breast Screening Program. Once a referral is made, an appointment will be scheduled for you to come to the Hotel Dieu site for your initial appointment.

Please bring your health card and any medications that you are currently taking to your appointment. Please feel free to bring a family member or friend for support.
